The First Root: Soul/Spirit

Have you ever felt like you were on a hamster wheel or living Groundhog Day over and over? That was me in 2011, spinning and on repeat! I was headed down a path that felt like it was going to take me out. I had a kind boss at this time who allowed me to press pause and step back. I recall the one thing that helped get me back on track was time outside, in nature, a walk in the park. It became the “non-negotiable” as I now refer to things like this. It was what my soul needed to reconnect to Him and to recover from the spin.

Why Wholeness Begins Within

At Connected Roots Wellness, we believe lasting health isn’t just about what you eat, how much you move, or how many hours you sleep. True wholeness begins deep within—at the level of your soul. When your inner world is grounded in peace, purpose, and connection, every other part of your health journey feels lighter and more sustainable.

Why the Soul Matters in Wellness

Science shows us that stress, worry, and disconnection don’t just affect our mood—they directly impact our hormones, our immune system, and even the way our bodies digest food. When the soul is restless, the body often struggles to heal. On the other hand, practices that nourish the soul reduce stress, calm inflammation, and help restore balance from the inside out.
